Role Summary

We are hiring for Head of Business Development who will be concerned with business growth and progress. They will be required to establish, maintain and develop relationships with customers, suppliers, and other shareholders. They will also be required to support in identifying new business opportunities or to generate revenue, improve business profits, and sustain growth. The duties will involve careful strategic planning and positioning into new markets, in order to enhance the operation of the business. The role also requires leadership, initiative, and persuasive interaction with the different clients.

 

To excel in this role, you should be an active listener, have a compelling sales personality, and have a hunger to chase and close new business from cold calls and inbound warm leads.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing meetings with potential clients (by networking, making calls, or any other official company communication) to establish and maintain  rapport
  • Researching and identifying new business opportunities – including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, partnerships, products, and services – or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Researching potential businesses and individuals, identifying new opportunities while upselling and cross-selling existing clientele and attracting new business
  • Attending conferences, meetings, and industry events to network and increase business potential
  • Preparing quotes and proposals and decks for potential client pitch sessions
  • Coming up with a hit list for the development team and business growth and ensuring they are met
  • Training and developing existing team members and interns
  • Supporting the management in contract development, customer negotiations, and product enhancements
  • Providing trustworthy feedback and post-sales support

Skills/Experience

Our Ideal candidate would need to have the following key attributes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, or related field
  • At least 2 years of experience in sales or related field
  • Proven track record of increasing sales revenue by hitting or exceeding personal targets
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
